Do the walks include the Cathedral?
Our guides include the history and exterior of the cathedral to varying extents. We do not, however, include the interior. For this we recommend taking a separate interior tour led by one of the knowledgeable cathedral guides. These tickets can be pre-purchased from this link.
Why is there a charge when the guides are volunteers?
We have advertising, administrative and insurance costs to pay. We also have ongoing costs for the regular training of the new Guides every 2 to 3 years. The charges you pay go towards these costs.
Do you allow dogs on your walks?
We regret that we can only allow assistance dogs on our walks.
Can you suggest where to stay whilst visiting Hereford/Herefordshire?
You can find lots of places to stay in Herefordshire on this website. Eat Sleep Live Herefordshire
I am in a wheelchair – is that ok?
The Guild have devised routes that help minimise discomfort, avoid steep slopes, narrow pavements and busy thoroughfares. So long as you are able to keep up with the rest of the party, there will be no problem (we don’t move at too fast a pace!). Users should be accompanied by a reasonably fit adult, as the guide will not be able to assist you.
What happens if there are too many people for a daily walk?
The tickets are sold on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. The preferred number of walkers is 15 at present.
What happens in bad weather?
That depends on how bad the weather is and how brave we are all feeling! We will try to adjust our route to minimise the impact, but in extreme cases, we may have to cancel the walk.
