Booked Walks

Booked Walks - Available throughout the year

Booked Walks can take place throughout the year. For those organisations and groups planning bookings please contact the Booking Secretary   via email or call 07947 924494 to discuss your requirements and book your walk.

Please note that the minimum number of walkers we will consider for all Booked Walks is 4 adults and all walks are subject to availability of suitable Guides for the subject matter and the size of your group.

Wheelchair users are welcome. Members of the Guild have devised a route that aims to minimize discomfort by using the smoothest surfaces, avoiding steep slopes, bumps, narrow pavements and narrow, busy thoroughfares. Please see our FAQs Section for more information.

Walks can be arranged at any time of the year and the starting and finishing points can be planned to suit the convenience of the party.

A few days notice is usually required and we normally allocate one guide per ten people.

Charges - £6 per person. For parties of schoolchildren the charge is £1 per child and £6 for accompanying adults. Please note that we can only allow assistance dogs on our walks.

Coach parties can unload near the west front of the Cathedral where the group can be met. The coach must leave immediately after unloading - for example to the car park at Merton Meadow.

To enquire or to make your booking please contact our Booking Secretary   via email or call 07947 924494 .

What our Customers Say

"Margaret, our guide, was excellent, giving us detailed information as we went. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk and meeting Margaret. Thank you. Carole"
Walker from Witney, UK Monday, 30 September 2024

"Our guide was absolutely super and was a terrific ambassador for Hereford and the guiding service for the city, she was very knowledgeable, took on board our questions ( whether specifically relevant or a little more random !) and was very good company for the duration of the tour ( around 90 minutes) - all accomplished in less than ideal rainy conditions."
Walker from Leek, Staffs, UK Sunday, 8 September 2024

"The Women in Hereford walk was excellent. Angela had researched it very well and presented everything clearly in an accessible way. Good use of photos to illustrate some of the information. It was about the right length in time and distance, and level of detail. I am sure that we all learned something new from the experience and will view some parts of Hereford differently in future. Thank you Angela!"
Walker from Herefordshire Sunday, 1 September 2024

"Derek was amazing. Thanks v much Derek. Thoroughly recommend the guided walk"
Walker from Wilts Friday, 30 August 2024

"I want to point out how great was my guide Stephen. He was very, very patient with my level of English and incredibly interesting, even showed me drawings to explain better some points, endearing!! Highly recommended."
Walker from Spain Madrid Tuesday, 13 August 2024

"Angie the guide was very good, connected well with the group. Interesting talk pointing out things that we would not have seen. Worth the money. "
Walker from March Cambridgeshire Tuesday, 18 June 2024

"We thoroughly enjoyed the talk. It may have been helpful just to have a printout of which music was being played in order before we set off as I couldn't always catch/remember the name. It was a perfect finish with tea at the Green Dragon. A thoroughly enjoyable and educational event."
Walker from Hereford Sunday, 2 June 2024

"Excellent and well scripted walk with a knowledgeable guide. Terrific tea afterwards Only slight problem was in the catholic churchvwhere acoustics made hearing difficult. I suggest the guide gets the group closer to her. "
Walker from Fownhope Hereford Sunday, 2 June 2024

"Glorious sunny day and enjoyable talk"
Walker from Hereford Sunday, 2 June 2024

"The commitment and knowledge of our guide was fantastic "
Walker from United Kingdom Saturday, 1 June 2024

"Really enjoyed the walk. I’ve lived here for a few years, but learnt so much today. Really interesting and the guide was welcoming and friendly. Great pace to be able to take it all in, ask questions and enjoy the experience. "
Walker from Hereford Sunday, 5 May 2024

"Please proof read your script above. You've spelt interesting incorrectly as "interisting"! It would have been helpful to have known in advance what the tour was going to involve. Angela took us along the river section but we had assumed we would be looking at historical sites encompassed in the city walk. We did enjoy the river walk but given the choice we probably would have chosen the city walk."
Walker from Colchester Sunday, 5 May 2024

"Interesting walk providing good overview of the history of the city. Covered all the main areas and the guide was very knowledgeable. Thank you"
Walker from Bedford UK Tuesday, 9 April 2024

“The booking has been painless and very efficient with good communication at all times.” The Malcolm Saville Society - April 2024

"Our guide was very knowledgeable and kept us entertained with various anecdotes along the way. I enjoyed her sense of humour and I would recommend her to any others organising a similar tour." "Both guides were excellent and kept our attention with all the information and added anecdotes. Thank you for all your help with organising us. We will certainly recommend other groups to do the same." Ledbury Walking Group March 2024

"Just a quick note to thank you so much for arranging the three guides to show us round Hereford. Everyone said how interesting and good the guides were. " U3A Havering January 2024
